WORLD HUNTING AWARDS CAN TAKE YOU THERE!!!,
Over the past 31 years since joining SCI I have found a source of information within the organization that has assisted me in successfully planning hunts to destinations I would not have considered otherwise. Along with many countries visited I have managed to take some very exotic species of trophies as a result of these excursions.
It is fun to plan your hunting with a new destination in mind and the potential for what that area of the world may provide for new trophies for your collection.
I became interested in trying for several grand slams as well as Inner Circles in the SCI World Hunting Awards program (WHA).
I later was asked to serve on the WHA committee which only took me to a higher level of interest to achieve goals otherwise would not have been of interest.
You may be only interested in hunting domestically rather then to many of the foreign destinations that wait the adventuresome hunter. If that is the case consider hunting right here in the USA and take the challenge of achieving the Grand Slam for North American Deer or North American Caribou. There are Inner Circle Challenges to be accomplished right here as well. The Introduced Animals Of North America can be reached by hunting game ranches right here in the U.S. Many Inner Circle levels can be reached without leaving our borders.
At the 2010 Reno Convention it was my pleasure to receive the SCI Zenith Award along with long time friend Jim Shockey. Through years of determined hunt planning Jim and I were able to achieve this award. My next personal goal is the Crowing Achievement Award which hopefully will come in October with a hunt in Tanzania for two species that will complete that challenge. I will be hunting the Lesser Kudu and Gerenuk, two species that hereto for had not been on my list of animals to harvest.
If I can help you to further your hunting goals or answer questions about WHA please contact us, there is a good possibility that Virginia and I have been there and done that.
